Sedalia Police officers conducted a warrant check Monday evening (Feb 27), in the 400 block of North Grand Avenue. Officers checked the male suspect's information and it was confirmed that he had a Copper County warrant for dangerous drugs. The suspect, 39-year-old Scott J. Franklin, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail with a $75,000 bond.


Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop around 3:15 Monday afternoon (Feb 27) on Stacey Lane. However, the suspect fled into a house. Eventually the man came to the door and officers arrested 46-year-old Timothy Paul Leary for driving while suspended and resisting arrest. Leary was taken to the Pettis County Jail.


Around 10:30 Tuesday morning (Feb 28), Sedalia Police arrested 18-year-old Brenden Michael Price for possession of marijuana and a Pettis County warrant. Price was taken to the Pettis County Jail, with a $3,500 bond.


Sedalia Police officers took a theft report from a woman Monday afternoon (Feb 27) regarding an incident at Katy Park. The woman stated she was walking around the trail at the park, when a younger male grabbed her purse and ran off. According to the report, the purse contained a small amount of cash and credit cards. The victim was not injured. And there were no suspects listed in that report.


Around 6:15 Tuesday morning (Feb 28), officers took a report of property damage in the 900 block of Westwood Avenue. A woman stated that someone had punched out the ignition switch in her van. There are no suspects at this time.


Around 8:00 Tuesday morning (Feb 28), Sedalia Police took a report of property damage in the 3700 block of West 10th Street. Someone had broken out the victim's truck window. There were no missing items listed in that report and no suspects.


Around 9:00 Tuesday morning (Feb 28), Sedalia Police took a report of property damage in the 1100 block of South Harding. Two different victims stated that their vehicles steering columns had been damaged. There were no further details listed in that report.


On Tuesday (Feb 28), Pettis County deputies arrested 48-year-old William Mulcrone, of Sedalia, for a Pettis County warrant for failing to register as a sex offender.


On Tuesday (Feb 28), Pettis County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the Probation and Parole Office at 205 Thompson Road, in reference to a woman with a Pettis County warrant. The woman was identified as Melissa Nicholson. She was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, with a bond of $3,500.
