Sedalia Police recently responded to Casey' General Store, located at 1601 E. Broadway, in reference to a subject-check. According to the report, the caller said a woman appeared to be under the influence of drugs. The report indicates the female suspect, 39-year old Heather Melba Miller, was pushing an infant in a stroller. The suspect reportedly said she 'would stay in the bathroom for the evening, since she was homeless.' Police arrived and made contact with Miller. She reportedly had illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia. Miller was arrested and placed on a twenty-four hour hold in the Pettis County Jail, for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and 1st Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. According to the report, a family member was contacted to take the child.


Just before 10:00 Thursday night (July 27), Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 700 block of E. 14th Street in reference to property damage. The victim said the front windshield of his vehicle was shattered by a toilet tank lid. The estimated cost to replace the windshield was placed at $400. There were no further details listed in that report.


On Friday (July 28), Pettis County Sheriff's deputies arrested Barbara J. Bailey, of Sedalia, for an outstanding Pettis County warrant.
