The Sedalia Bombers have been playing great baseball lately.  The pitching has been phenomenal and the Bombers have been more than effective at the plate.  The Bombers are tied for first in the South Division of the MINK League after a one-run win against division foe Nevada Griffons on Thursday night (June 27).

Last night the Bombers scored seven runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning and never looked back. Trevor Richards gave the Bombers seven fantastic innings. "He had great control and had three pitches that were really working for him," said Manager Jud Kindle. "He was able to keep the ball down, he trusted the defense behind him, a lot of ground balls and pop ups."

The Bombers head out on the road for seven straight days. I asked Manager Kindle how he is preparing his team for the longest road trip of the season.

"Well, it will be up to our starting pitching how the road trip goes, we are going to be short three pitchers. We lost Tark (Preston Tarkington), Kody McFarland will be leaving us soon, and Anstine won't be making the trip."

The Bombers are posed to make a run at the 2013 MINK League Championship. They have all the pieces and the bats have been red hot as of lately. We will be following the Bombers on the road trip and look forward to seeing them back in action at Liberty Park Stadium on July 5.

This is a great time to send in your best Bombers photos and win tickets to the next home game. Good luck to the Bombers on the road trip, and I look forward to calling the game for you or seeing you out at Liberty Park Stadium on July 5. Go Bombers!
