Woman arrested for assault on law enforcement

At 3:38 Wednesday afternoon, Sedalia police were dispatched to Katy Trail Community Health located at 821 Westwood Ave. on an unruly customer. Upon contact with the suspect, 19-year-old Charlene Treaster of Sedalia, she was cursing loudly and threatening patients and staff. At the time of the police report, Treaster was in the Pettis County Jail pending bonds totaling $1067 on charges of assault on law enforcement and public peace disturbance.

America's Car-Mart reports the theft of a vehicle from the South Limit lot

Around 9:10 Wednesday morning Sedalia Police took a theft complaint from the America's Car-Mart located at 3303 South Limit. According to the management at the dealership, video showed that the theft took place at 9:15 the night before. The report also states the vehicle was located in the 3500 block of West Broadway, and returned to the dealership. Fingerprint evidence was obtained from items the thieves left behind in the vehicle, and the theft is still under investigation.

Illegal firearm is taken into custody by Sedalia Police early this morning

Just after 2 a.m. this morning, Sedalia Police investigated a disturbance at a residence in the 400 block of West 7th Street. The police report states there were no arrest in the incident, but an illegal firearm was taken into custody and the incident is being investigated.

Female driver loses control of her vehicle, hits a fence and a camper

At 10:40 Wednesday night, a female driver told Sedalia Police she had meant to hit the brakes, but instead put her foot on the accelerator, causing her to lose control of the vehicle, striking a residential fence and a camper. The accident took place at 7th and Quincy. The driver refused treatment at the scene, but was taken to Bothwell Hospital by private vehicle later for treatment of minor injuries.

Sedalia Rental and Supply reports a theft

On Wednesday, an employee of Sedalia Rental and Supply, located at 21474 US 50 Highway, reported that a known suspect stole rental property from the business.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Accident Report

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a two-vehicle accident just after 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. The accident occurred on Business Highway 13 at Hawthorne Road in Johnson County, as the 2005 Pontiac Grand Am driven by 19-year-old Jacqulyn Atkins of Warrensburg pulled into the path of a 2014 Freightliner driven by John Horbaly of Fort St. Lucie, Fla. Atkins suffered minor injuries in the crash and was taken to Western Missouri Medical Center by Johnson County EMS for treatment.
