Sweet Springs man arrested on burglary and Probation violation

According to a Pettis County Sheriff’s report, Pettis County Sheriff’s Deputies and Missouri State Highway Patrol Troopers responded to a burglary in progress in the 14000 block of Highway “D” in the Houstonia area on March 27. Following an investigation, 59-year-old Wayne H. Coslet of Sweet Springs was taken into custody. The report states Coslet was later charged with burglary and probation violation. At the time of the Sheriff’s report, Coslet was in the Pettis County Jail with a $12,000 bond.

Female victim reports the possible theft of her vehicle

At 8 a.m. Thursday night, a female victim in the 1000 block of East 5th Street reported the possible theft of her 1998 Chevrolet Truck. The victim told officers she had loaned the vehicle to someone at 7 a.m. that morning and had not returned it as promised.

Benton County accident injures a Sedalia woman Thursday afternoon

Just before 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one-vehicle injury accident on US-65 Highway just north of North Lincoln Road in Benton County. The accident reportedly occurred as the 2003 Ford F150 driven by 57-year-old James McCannon of Sedalia ran off of the roadway and overturned. A passenger in the vehicle, 64-year-old Romualda McCannon of Sedalia, suffered minor injuries in the wreck and was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Warsaw/Lincoln EMS for treatment.
