During the Sedalia City Council meeting on Monday (April 21), "Racecar" Bob Hiller presented a check to Sedalia Police Department's D.A.R.E Officers Rodney Collins and Sargent Brad Beard for $12,032, raised during the 24th Annual D.A.R.E Car Show on April 5.

Hiller has been a staunch supporter of the DARE Program from its start, and according to his comments Monday night, funds he has provided to the program are above $50,000. Last year, Hiller presented a check was for $12,012.

The D.A.R.E. program was founded in 1983 in Los Angeles and teaches kids the skills to avoid involvement in drugs, gangs, and violence. The D.A.R.E program is implemented in 75 percent of America's schools.
