The Sedalia DARE-Racecar Bob Hiller Scholarship was presented this week to Mekenna Steger and Elizabeth Matz.

Each year the Sedalia DARE Program gives out two $500 scholarships to graduating seniors that have participated in the Sedalia DARE Program.

Makenna Steger, the daughter of Michelle Steger,  took first place and has been accepted to the University of Missouri-Kansas City and intends to enter the 6-year B.A/M.D.  program.

Elizabeth Matz, the daughter of Scott and Melissa Matz, took second place, has been accepted to State Fair Community College and intends to major in Education with an emphasis in Jr. High Math.  Both winners were students in the Sedalia 200 School District.

Steger and Matz were presented their awards by Chief Matt Wirt, Bob Hiller, and Mayor John Kehde. The Sedalia DARE Scholarship is funded for the next 25 years.
