The Sedalia Lions Club are one of the great groups we're lucky to have in our area.  They're here to help the very young and the very old to help fill in the gaps of what needs they have that might not be met by some of the other great groups out there. The Lions Club works hard to get eyeglasses to kids who need them, and every year they reach out to needy kids at Christmastime to get them the shoes they'll need to keep warm and dry.  The Lions also bring care packages to young kids who have to stay the night at the Bothwell Regional Health Center.  Each package is attuned to the different age groups - and even has a little something to keep Mom and Dad a little entertained.  This year they've switched up a major fundraiser they've had.  In times past, they've had the Blues and BBQ festival.  This year, it's been a little more countrified with the Backyard Bash.  They had cornhole tournaments, a dunk tank, delicious food and drink, and tons of great live music from Ruckus, The Full Moon Band, Sweet Shot, Renegade Rail, and McKenzie's Mill.  I got to go and broadcast live from the event - and I took some photos!

As you can see, we all had a blast.  I'm so glad I got to go and rawk it out!  Make sure you keep up with what's happening with the Sedalia Lions on Their Facebook page, or on their home page. They'll have plenty of other chances for you to join them this year with many different fundraising events that really put the FUN right in 'em.

Lionly yours,
Behka
