A Sedalia man was arrested on October 7 on charges of second degree burglary and first degree property damage.

According to a police report, officers responded to a burglary alarm at Kohl's and were advised by the store's security company that a camera check verified that there had been an attempt to gain entry into the business. Police discovered glass on the front doors had been damaged, but the building was still secure.

While on the scene at Kohl's, police were dispatched to a  second glass breakage alarm at another location. Police say the suspect was still in the building at the second location, and discovered that the description of the suspect and vehicle from the Kohl's security company appeared to match the suspect at the second location. 28-year-old Robert P. Bemiss was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail.

It is estimated that the exterior door at Kohl's sustained about $1,000 worth of damaged.
