Sedalia Police arrested a 58-year-old man late Sunday night for third-degree assault on a law officer. Anthony W. Moon, of the 2300 block of Dennis Road, was arrested after he allegedly placed both hands on an officer and pushed him out the front doorway. Police were investigating a report of domestic assault when Moon became aggressive, the report said. The complainant stated he was pushed several times, kicked in the genitals and had his hair pulled and ripped out by the suspect. Moon, who is 6'4” and weighs 185 pounds, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on 12-hour protective custody.

Police took two reports involving dogs recently. On May 12, Kenneth D. Venable of the 900 block of South Missouri, was arrested for “Dogs Barking and Annoying Others” after the complainant pressed charges. A court date of June 15 was set for Venable. And on May 14, police were dispatched to the 2200 block of West Second on a dog bite. The victim stated he was bit on top of his head by a dog as he was cleaning vines from a fence. The victim had minor injuries and refused treatment. The owner of the dog was advised to quarantine his animal for 10 days to look for signs of rabies.
