Sedalia Man Sentenced to 15 Years Monday in Circuit Court

The following case was resolved in the Circuit Court of Pettis County on March 21, 2016. Information provided b the Prosecuting Attorney Phillip T. Sawyer.

Jonathan D. Buri, 31, Sedalia: pleaded guilty to 1 Count of Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Distribute. On February 21 of this year, after a short foot pursuit, officers observed the defendant throw an object from his person just prior to being apprehended. After recovering the object officers located inside 2 larger baggies of methamphetamine along with 8 smaller unused baggies which Prosecutors alleged was consistent with drug distribution.

The defendant was sentenced to 15 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections to be served. The sentence was executed pursuant to Section 559.115 RSMo with preference given for the Institutional Treatment Center.
