Well, as we all know, we're inching towards Fall, and as that happens, so comes out all the people who LOVE Halloween.Halloween is pretty awesome, lots of creepy stuff to do out there.  And for about, what, the last fifteen years or so, it seems like zombies are everywhere, so this take on a new fun run is pretty awesome.

Admittedly, I don't watch The Walking Dead, but I did see 28 Days Later.  And, one of my favorite movies is Shaun of the Dead.

So that's why I think this new idea from the Sedalia Parks and Recreation is so cool!  They're going to do a 5 and 10K Zombie Run on October 20th. It'll be at Clover Dell park, with registration starting at 4:00 p.m. and the run starting at 5:00 p.m.  You'll get some flags to put on a flag football belt, and you'll have to get through the run with all your flags intact.  Trying to TAKE your flags will be a bunch of people dressed up as zombies, chasing you down!  I mean, if there was ever motivation to run, I think brain eating zombies might be your best bet.  If you make it past the finish line with at least one of your flags, you get a special survivor t-shirt.  Everybody gets a commemorative t-shirt, and the first 200 finishers get a medal.  If you lose your flags... well, it was nice knowing you, Barbara.

Early bird registration goes through September 28. Prices go like this: 5K- $25, 10K - $35, and Kids $15.  After the 28th, prices go up five bucks. If the run doesn't sound like fun, but being a zombie does, email schambers@sedaliaparks.com for more information on volunteering to be a Zombie! You can also check out more info on their Facebook page.

Bitingly yours,

Behka
