The following Sedalia Police crime reports and Missouri State Highway Patrol accident reports are from the afternoon of Oct. 28, 2013.

Sedalia woman arrested for driving while suspended Sunday

Just before 7:00 Sunday morning, Sedalia police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a driver known to be suspended. Following confirmation, 27-year-old Margret Keele of Sedalia was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail pending a $533.50 bond.

Disturbance call on Sunday night results in arrest of a 23-year-old woman

Around 10:00 Sunday night, Sedalia police went to a residence in the 100 block of West 10th on a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers made contact with several subjects. A check through dispatch revealed one of the subjects, 23-year-old Amber Wilson of Sedalia, had a Pettis County failure to appear warrant. Wilson was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail pending a cash only bond of $500.

Subject check at the police station leads to arrest for a Sedalia man

Sedalia police responded to the Sedalia Police Station on a subject with a warrant. Following confirmation through dispatch, 29-year-old Christopher Hoskins of Sedalia was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail pending a bond of $350 on a failure to appear warrant out of Concordia.

Thefts reported over the weekend in Sedalia

Around 5:25 Sunday evening, Sedalia police were dispatched to a residence in the 1300 block of South Osage. Upon arrival, the victim told the officer that someone stole the battery for a power lift unit that lifts a wheelchair into and out of a vehicle. Value of the battery was set at $115. There were no suspects.

Friday night a victim in the 1800 block of South Stewart reported thieves had stolen a 55” Plasma TV valued at $1200 from his home. There were no suspects at news time.

At 4:30 Sunday afternoon, a victim in the 1200 block of Spring Street reported vandals had destroyed approximately $30 worth of Halloween decorations in their yard. There were no suspects.

At 11:11 Saturday night Casey’s at 716 West 16th reported the theft of a 12-pack of beer valued at $9.49. The police report states there is information on a suspect in the case.

Serious injuries reported in a Saline County accident Saturday

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 56-year-old Nelson man suffered serious injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 5:45 Saturday evening. The accident occurred on Route “H” a half mile east of Longview Avenue in Saline County. The accident reportedly happened when the 2011 Chrysler driven by 56-year-old Calvin Skinner of Nelson traveled off the right side of roadway, struck a culvert, went airborne, returned to the roadway, then traveled off the left side of the roadway where the vehicle struck a tree. Skinner suffered serious injuries and was taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital by EMS for treatment.

Henry County man injured in a one-vehicle accident Sunday evening

At 5:15 Sunday evening, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported an injury accident on Route “C” just East of County Road Southeast 1201 in Henry County. The accident occurred as the 2009 Pontiac driven by 27-year-old Rachel Denny of Warsaw traveled off the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned, coming to rest on its wheels in a ditch. Denny, who was not wearing a seat belt, received moderate injuries and was transported by life flight to St. Lukes Hospital in Kansas City Mo. for treatment.

Hardin man injured in a motorcycle accident in Lafayette County Saturday

A Hardin, Mo. man, 51-year-old Roger Hurr, reportedly suffered moderate injuries at 4:40 Saturday afternoon when the 1989 Harley Davidson Motorcycle he was riding traveled off the roadway and overturned, ejecting him. The Missouri State Highway Patrol report states the accident occurred on Missouri Highway 13 a tenth of a mile south of Blackwater Creek in Lafayette County. Hurr was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by Higginsville EMS for treatment of his injuries.
