Just before 4:00 Monday morning (July 24), Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 300 block of E. 2nd Street for a reported burglary. According to the report, the suspect had entered the residence through the back door. The suspect and victim got into an argument, that reportedly turned physical. Police made contact with the suspect, 22-year old Tyler G. Halderman, and arrested him for 1st Degree Burglary and Domestic Assault, according to the report. Halderman was taken to the Pettis County Jail, pending state charges.


Around 8:45 Sunday night (July 23), Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop at S. Grand Ave and W. 24th Street for a vehicle that reportedly disobeyed a stop sign. Officers ran a computer-check of the driver and passenger. According to the report, the passenger had a no-bond absconder warrant. Police arrested the passenger, 26-year old Robert David Puckett, and transported him to the Pettis County Jail.


Around 3:00 Saturday morning (July 22), Sedalia Police conducted a warrant-check in the 2200 block of W. 5th Street. The suspect reportedly had two Pettis County warrants. One warrant was for failure-to-appear (driving while suspended) and the other warrant was for stealing. Police arrested the suspect, 25-year old Chelsea Nicole Byrd, and transported her to the Pettis County Jail, with a total bond of $400.


Early Monday morning (July 24), Sedalia Police responded to the 400 block of E. 6th Street for a reported motor vehicle theft. The victim's vehicle was allegedly stolen from outside her residence sometime during the evening. The value of the vehicle was placed at $12,000. There are no suspects at this time and no description of the vehicle was listed in that report.


On Saturday (July 22), Sedalia Police took a burglary report in the 300 block of W. 10th Street. The victim told officers that when he returned home from work, he noticed his apartment had been ransacked and several items were stolen. The estimated value of the items was placed at $515. There are no suspects at this time.


On Sunday (July 23), Pettis County Sheriff's deputies arrested William David Ross, of Sedalia, in the area of 16th Street and Ohio Ave, on a Pettis County warrant. Ross was taken to the Pettis County Jail, with a bond set at $2,000 cash and $2,500 cash/surety.


On Friday (July 22), Pettis County deputies arrested Viktor Isayko in the 30000 block of Clare Lane, for 4th Degree Domestic Assault, Resisting Arrest, and 2nd Degree Assault on Law Enforcement.


On Monday (July 24), Pettis County deputies took a report of stolen property. According to the report, a 9 mm handgun was missing from the victim's truck sometime last week. At this time, there are no witnesses or suspects, and the case is under investigation.


Also on Monday (July 24), Pettis County deputies were dispatched to the 29300 block of Apple Valley Road in reference to property damage. The reporting party stated that sometime overnight, he heard several gun shots in the distance. When he woke up in the morning, he noticed a hole in the vinyl fencing on the west side of the property. At this time, there are no suspects.
