Hotline call reported concerning sexual abuse of a child

At 8:00 Monday morning, a worker with the Children’s Division reported a hotline call in reference to sexual abuse of a child. According to the police report, the incident took place in the 800 block of Westwood Drive. The incident is currently under investigation.

27-year-old Sedalia man arrested Wednesday evening during a warrant check

Around 7:40 Wednesday evening, Sedalia police conducted a warrant check at a residence in the 1800 block of South Carr. Upon contact with the suspect, 27-year-old Randy Jones of the residence, the city warrant for failure to appear was confirmed. Jones was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail pending an $88.50 cash only bond.

Hughesville woman arrested for driving while suspended this (Thursday) morning

At 9:30 this (Thursday) morning, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle in the 1900 block of South New York for improper registration. Upon contact with the driver, 31-year-old Holly Young of Hughesville, she was found to be suspended. Young was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where she was booked and released with a court date.

Burglary complaint filed by a Sedalia man Monday evening

Just after 5:30 Monday evening, a victim in the 2900 block of Skyline Drive filed a burglary complaint with the Sedalia police. According to the victim, someone entered his home through an unlocked door sometime after 7:15 that morning and stole a 20-gauge Winchester shotgun. There were no suspects at the time of the police report and no value was placed on the stolen shotgun.

Property damage complaint reported Wednesday night in the 500 block of West 5th

Wednesday night, Sedalia police took a property damage complaint from a female victim in the 500 block of West 5th. The victim told officers someone shot out the back window of her vehicle with a pellet gun. There was no other information in the police report.

Pettis County Sheriff’s Office reports a case of forgery this (Thursday) morning

At 9:08 this (Thursday) morning, a Smithton man reported a check had been taken and wrote to an out of town business without his knowledge or permission. The check was reportedly in excess of $300. The incident is currently under investigation by the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office.
