43-year-old Sedalia man arrested on multiple charges Tuesday night

At 8:30 Tuesday night, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at Broadway and Quincy for an equipment violation. Upon further investigation it was determined that the driver, 43-year-old Eric Monsees of Sedalia, was operating a vehicle while intoxicated. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed Monsees was also in possession of marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. At the time of the police report, Monsees was on 24-hour hold in the Pettis County Jail pending formal charges.

Sedalia woman suffers a dog bite to her ankle Tuesday afternoon

Around 3:30 yesterday afternoon, Sedalia police were dispatched to the Emergency Room at Bothwell Regional Health Center on a reported dog bite. Upon contact with the female victim, she told officers a medium-sized, white long-haired dog had bitten her on the ankle in the area of 11th and Massachusetts. The victim knew the first name of the dogs owner and the area where she lived according to the police report. The victim reportedly had minor injuries that were treated by the hospital. The incident is being investigated at news time.

Burglary reported at a building in the 500 block of South Engineer

On Tuesday evening, the owner of a building in the 500 block of South Engineer filed a burglary complaint with the Sedalia police. According to the victim, someone forced entry into his store building sometime over the past two days and stole several items including tools and antique toys. There was no information on possible suspects in the police report.

Pettis County Sheriff’s Department reports thefts in the county

On Monday, Pettis County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a burglary complaint in the Houstonia area. According to the victim, someone kicked in the front door of the home to gain entry. Taken from the residence was a lock box containing gold and silver coins and personal papers. Also taken was Dell laptop computer, prescription medication and a gold 1998 Ford Escort with a license number KB7-X6D. There was no further information in the sheriff’s report.

A victim in the 22000 block of Yeater Road reported property damage to his garage door and a mobile home window that occurred on Monday. An investigation continues in that case by the Pettis County Sheriff’s office.

On Monday, a Smithton woman reported unspecified thefts from her residence in the 29000 block of Griessen Road. The Pettis County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the thefts.
