On February 23, police received a complaint from a Sedalia man who claimed that an unknown person had used his ID to obtain employment and collect unemployment payments from 2012 through January 2014. Police say the statute of limitations has expired for these crimes, but a report was completed to document the incident.


A 24-year-old woman was issued a municipal summons for stealing after police were called to Walmart on February 23 at 10 a.m. to investigate a theft in progress. Police say the stolen items were returned to the store. 24-year-old Krista L. Griffitt has a court date of March 22.


Sedalia Police arrested a 32-year-old man for domestic assault, harassment and resisting arrest after responding to the 1400 block of S. Stewart on February 23. Police say that Robert Earl Anderson was accused of attemtping to assault a woman several times. The victim and Anderson had been arguing because he had been drinking. Anderson was placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail, pending state charges.


Deputies with the Pettis County Sheriff's Department arrested Calvin Comfort for an active failure to appear warrant on an original traffic violation on February 23.
