21-year-old Sedalia woman arrested for stealing at Walmart

At 10:36 Saturday morning Sedalia police were dispatched to the Walmart Store on a report of shoplifting. Upon arrival the complainant told them, the suspect 21-year-old Nicole Simons had left the store with socks in her purse without paying for them. Simons was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail pending $531,50 bond.

 

Sedalia woman arrested on a Pettis County Warrant during a traffic stop

At 1:22 Friday afternoon Sedalia police stopped a vehicle near 7th and Wagner for expired registration. A subsequent check through dispatch on the driver, 21-year-old Sara Soendker of Sedalia revealed she also had an active Pettis County Warrant. At the time of the police report she was in the Pettis County jail pending a $200 bond.

 

Traffic stop Thursday night nets a suspended driver

Around 10 o'clock Thursday night Sedalia police conducted a traffic stop at 4th and Emmit for expired registration. Upon contact with the driver, 24-year-old Kamec Elbarke of Sedalia he was found to be suspended. Elbarke was booked and released with a court date on the charge of driving while suspended.

 

Sedalia man arrested for being a suspended driver in New Mexico

At 1:40 Saturday afternoon Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at North Grand and Martin Luther King Blvd for a defective tail light. A check through dispatch revealed the driver, 36-year-old Benjamin Liechti of Centerview.  was a suspended driver out of New Mexico. Liechti was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released with a court date.

 

Property owner says a former tenant of his rental house damaged the property

Friday afternoon the owner of a house in the 1300 block of New England Drive reported his house had been damaged by a former tenant. According to the police report a window, and two doors were damaged, and syrup was poured on the floor. The incident is currently under investigation.

 

Pills stolen from kitchen cabinets of a woman on East 4th

Saturday morning a woman in the 900 block of East 4th filed a theft complaint with tghe Sedalia Police Department. According to the victim sometime during the previous 24-hours someone stole some perscription pills from her kitchen cabinets. There are no suspects at news time.

 

Pettis County Sheriff's Deputies investigate a case of animal abuse Friday morning

Just after 11 o'clock Friday morning Pettis County Sheriff's Deputies investigated a case of animal abuse in the 20,000 block of Highway JJ. According to the victims sometime the night before someone came on their property for the purpose of injuring one of their horses. At the time of the report an investigation was ongoing.

 

A juvenile female is bitten by a dog in the county

At 8:44 Saturday night Pettis County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the Bothwell Hospital ER on a reported dog bite, that occurred in the county. Upon arrival they made contact with the victim, a juvenile female, who had received unspecified injuries as a result of a dog bite. The girl was treated and released by the hospital There was no other information in the police report.
