Sedalia Police Respond To a Van In Liberty Park Lagoon

At 3:30 a.m. Monday morning, Sedalia Police went to Liberty Park on a report of a van near the Liberty Park Lagoon. Sedalia Police received a report that two subjects had dumped the van into the south side of the lagoon and fled the area on foot. The van was slowly sinking into the lagoon when Sedalia Police arrived on the scene. The same van was involved in a gas drive-off that morning at Jiffy Stop, at 1722 West Broadway. The investigation is ongoing.

Sedalia Police, Pettis County Deputies and Missouri State Highway Patrol Make Arrest After Short Pursuit in Sedalia

On Sunday night (April 20), Pettis County Deputies, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Sedalia Police were involved in a short pursuit inside the city limits of Sedalia. Pettis County Deputies arrested 23-year-old James Dowelland and 21-year-old Caleb Miller. They were both issued several summons, booked and released from the Pettis County Jail.

Two Thefts Reported

A woman in the 1400 Block of South Moniteau reported to Sedalia Police that somebody broke into the home and stole a 42-inch television and Xbox 360.

The Walmart Asset Protection Office reported to Sedalia Police that a woman came into the store on Friday (April 18), grabbed $40.86 in items, went to the front service desk and returned the items for a gift card. The Walmart Asset Protection Office also reported that this has happened on two other occasions.

Pettis County Deputies Investigate Two Assaults

Pettis County Deputies received a report of an assault in the 1300 Block of East Boonville on April 21.

Pettis County Deputies received a report of an assault that happened on Friday (April 18) on South Highway 65.

Several Arrests Made

Sedalia Police arrested Angela Sanders for a Sedalia warrant, bond set at $88.50; Pettis County warrant, bond set at $25,000 cash/surety; Benton County warrant, bond set at $1,000 cash/surety and a Henry County warrant, bond set at $2,500 cash.

Sedalia Police arrested James Deuschle for failure to appear, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, bond set at $540 cash.

Sedalia Police arrested Derek Thomas for driving while intoxicated, bond set at $533.50.

Sedalia Police arrested Jessica Allee for failure to appear, bond set at $200.

Sedalia Police arrested Anthony Spellmeyer for driving while intoxicated and possession of synthetic marijuana.

Sedalia Police arrested Gonzalo Esqueda for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Sedalia Police arrested Kori Hinds for possession of marijuana.

Sedalia Police arrested Karond Fuqua and William Eaton for a peace disturbance.

Sedalia Police arrested Mallory Rogers for shoplifting from Walmart.

Pettis County Deputies arrested James Cramer on an active Johnson County misdemanor warrant for failure to appear on a traffic violation.
