The following Sedalia Police and Pettis County Sheriff's crime reports are from the morning of Wednesday, April 9, 2014.

Several Thefts Reported to Sedalia Police

A man reported to Sedalia Police that someone stole an electric stove, lighting covers and light bulbs from a rental home in the 1400 block of South Sneed Avenue. In addition, parts from the furnace and electric wires were cut and removed. The total loss was estimated at $9,415.

A man in the 100 Block of North Harding reported to Sedalia Police that someone stole a steel control stand valued at $800 from outside the building between April 4 and 7.

An electrician with Union Pacific reported to Sedalia Police that a red semi-truck and trailer hit the railroad arms at the tracks at Park and Main yesterday. The light on the south gate rail arm and the "flyer" was damaged, causing $600 in damages. The vehicle drove off without stopping.

Employees of Jiffy Stop at 1722 West Broadway reported a $49.28 gas drive off.

A woman in the 400 Block of South Grant reported to Sedalia Police that someone stole three of her checks and forged them in Sedalia, spending $193.57 in items sometime since March 21.

Two Arrests Made

Pettis County Deputies arrested Brendon Vanwinkle on an active Jefferson City Police Department warrant.

Sedalia Police arrested Nathaniel Stanton for driving while suspended.
