The following Sedalia Police crime reports are from the morning of Aug. 21, 2013.

Shot fired in Scott Joplin Court Tuesday morning

At 12:36 Tuesday morning, Sedalia police responded to Scott Joplin Court on the report of a gun shot. Upon arrival, witnesses told officers two subjects were arguing and one of them fired a shot into the air, then left the area in a vehicle.No one was injured in the incident and an investigation is ongoing.

Theft reports from the Sedalia Police Department

Just after 1:00 Tuesday afternoon, a victim came to the police station to report that his wallet was stolen from his vehicle sometime after 9:00 Monday morning. There were no suspects.

At 4:48 Monday evening, a complainant in the 1100 block of South Merriam reported he had found a bicycle leaning against his garage. The bike is a 26” Schwinn Mountain Bike, Blue with red and silver trim. The bike is in police custody waiting for an owner.

Around 5:40 Monday evening, a victim in the 1200 block of Liberty Park Blvd. reported the theft of a car battery and a push mower. The stolen items were in the man’s driveway at the time of the theft. There was no suspects information in the police report.

At 2:27 Monday afternoon, a victim in the 500 block of North Quincy reported two Ematic 7” Pro-Series Tablets were stolen from her residence. The thefts took place sometime over the past several months according to the victim. There were no suspect.

Pettis County Sheriff’s reports

A Pettis County Sheriff’s report states victims in the 2900 block of Marshall Ave. reported a case of identity theft to the Pettis County Sheriff’s Department at 10:48 Tuesday morning. According to the victims, $55 was transferred from their bank account. The Sheriff’s report states a suspect has been identified and an investigation is ongoing.

Just after 2:00 Tuesday afternoon, a victim in the 6000 block of Honey Locust Lane came to the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office to report items missing from her home. There was no information on a possible suspect at the time of the report.
