Sedalia Police Investigate a Man With a Weapon

Yesterday (Aug. 25), Sedalia Police responded to the area of 4th and Lamine for a report of a subject with a weapon. Sedalia Police found the man intoxicated and the weapon was seized.

Sedalia Police Investigate Child Abuse Cases & Assaults

Sedalia Police went to Breaktime at 808 East Broadway after three small children were found unattended near the highway. An unidentified subject gathered the children into the store and Sedalia Police were called. The parents of the children were called and the children were released to the parents. A call was made to the Child Abuse Neglect Hotline.

Sedalia Police and the Children's Division is investigating a report of child abuse in the 1000 Block of East 10th.

A man reported an assault to Sedalia Police. The man said he was followed for several blocks by a vehicle that was tailgating and revving his engine.

A woman reported to Sedalia Police that she was harassed via phone in the last couple of days. The woman also reported that she was assaulted by the same subject in the area of 3rd and South Ohio.

Pettis County Deputies took a report of an assault that occurred in the 500 Block of South Mrytle in Smithton.

Several Thefts Reported

A man reported to Sedalia Police that he interrupted a couple who was trying to steal metal from behind a building behind Central Market. The man also saw people three weeks ago steal motors from refrigerators and metal from air conditioners.

A man from Sedalia reported to Pettis County Deputies that someone stole a catalytic convertor off a Jeep Cherokee in the 30000 Block of Ball Road.

A woman in the 300 Block of South Chestnut reported to Pettis County Deputies that someone stole a five-gallon gas can full of fuel and a Homelite weed eater from her home within the last week.

A man from Safe Guard Properties LLC came to the Pettis County Sheriff's Office to report one of the properties they watch in the 23000 Block of Highway O was broken into and items were taken.

A woman in the 3800 Block of Ingram Avenue reported a theft to Pettis County Deputies.

A man reported to Sedalia Police that he placed a green bank bag that had his bank book and savings account bank into the basket of his cart. The man forgot the bank bag in the cart and when he remembered he forgot it, he returned and the bag was gone.

A man in the 200 Block of Walnut Avenue in Houstonia reported to Pettis County Deputies that the license plates on his car had been lost or stolen this week.

A woman in the 600 Block of East 9th reported to Sedalia Police that someone damaged a screen door to a home on Aug. 23.

Several Arrests Made

Sedalia Police arrested Matthew Woody for failure to obey, bond set at $533.50.

Sedalia Police arrested Sarah McAteer for having a Morgan County warrant, bond set at $300 cash.

Sedalia Police arrested Marcus Iman for a Benton County failure to appear.
