Sedalia Police Investigate Counterfeit Money Report

An employee of Bing's, at 1703 East Broadway, reported to Sedalia Police that someone tried to pay for multiple items with counterfeit money. The suspect did not know that the money was counterfeit and Sedalia Police seized the money.

Two Abuse Cases Investigated 

Sedalia Police arrested Kristin Purser for domestic assault in the 2nd degree and child abuse, after her child was taken to Children's Mercy and found to have two broken arms and a skull fracture. Purser's bond is set at $160,000 cash/surety.

Pettis County Deputies received a report last night (June 19) that was a possible case of child molestation in the 22000 Block of North Woods Road.

Several Thefts and Property Damage Reported 

Early this morning (June 20), Sedalia Police received three reports of property damage. Someone damaged their parked vehicles. A witness said an unknown suspect, driving in a pick-up, threw small paving stones at the vehicles and left the scene.

A woman in the 500 Block of East 5th reported to Sedalia Police that someone slashed two holes into her above-ground pool.

A woman in the 1300 Block of South Lamine, reported to Sedalia Police yesterday (June 19) that someone stole her 26-inch Red Huffy Baron Bike, valued at $30, from her front yard.

A man in the 2200 Block of South Marvin reported to Sedalia Police that someone got into his unlocked truck and took items from his glove box and center console.

A man in the 400 Block of East 13th, reported to Sedalia Police that his wallet was either lost or stolen.

An employee of Casey's, at 1601 East Broadway, reported to Sedalia Police there was a gas drive off yesterday (June 19).

Several Arrests Made 

Sedalia Police arrested Bradley Lee for having two Johnson County warrants, bond set at $3,650.

Sedalia Police arrested Megan Foster for stealing from JC Penney, Sears, Vincents and Payless Shoe Source. Foster was also charged with possession of non-narcotic drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended.

Sedalia Police arrested Zachary Hines for driving while suspended.

Pettis County Deputies issued a summons to Kaleb Dove for careless and imprudent driving.

Yesterday (June 19), Sedalia Police recovered an abandoned wheelchair in the area of 13th and Grand.
