Sedalia Police Investigate Child Abuse Case

Sedalia Police is investigating a reported child abuse case in the 1000 Block of 3rd Street.

Two Accidents Reported Over the Weekend
There was a four-car accident that happened on Saturday morning (Jan. 31) at Highway 65 and 16th Street. A vehicle was traveling northbound on Highway 65 at 45 mph and couldn't stop on the wet roadway and collided into the rear of a vehicle, causing a chain reaction accident. Only one of the drivers complained of neck and head pain. The various vehicles suffered anywhere from minor to moderate damage.
Pettis County Deputies took a report of a minor vehicle accident that happened on HH Highway and O Highway at 3:50 Saturday morning (Jan. 31). There were minor injuries to those involved and heavy damage to one vehicle, according to Pettis County Deputies.

 

Several Thefts Reported

Pettis County Deputies received a report that someone stole a 2010 Dodge Nitro from a home in the 4200 Block of West Main Street on Feb. 1.

A man reported to Pettis County Deputies that a black vehicle was parked in the middle of Dresden Road yesterday morning (Feb. 1). The vehicle was towed from the roadway.

A woman in the 1300 Block of East Boonville reported to Pettis County Deputies that shot out several windows of her home with a bb gun on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 31).

A man in the 1300 Block of East Boonville reported to Pettis County Deputies that someone busted out a window to his home, with a bb gun on Saturday (Jan. 31).

Sedalia Police received a report of two tires that were slashed, valued at $400, between 9:45 and 10:45 Saturday night (Jan. 31) in the 220 Block of West 2nd.

A man reported to Sedalia Police that a red 32-foot 1987 Coose Gooseneck trailer, valued at $7,000, was stolen from the Sale Barn of Mid Missouri, at 3503 South Limit, between Noon on Jan. 30 and 8:50 Saturday morning (Jan. 31).

A woman in the 2800 Block of Southgate Loop reported to Pettis County Deputies that someone stole her Wi-Fi router from her house on Sunday evening (Feb. 1).

A woman reported to Sedalia Police that scrap metal, valued at $300, was stolen from a fenced in area of a business in the 3100 Block of West Broadway on Jan. 30.

A man reported to Pettis County Deputies that two wild game cameras were stolen from his home in the 17000 Block of Fristoe Road on Jan 30 or 31.

A woman in the 1300 Block of East 5th reported to Sedalia Police that someone stole a nail gun from the home in the last month.

A woman in the 1500 Block of West 4th reported to Sedalia Police that a car title and some insurance papers were removed from her home on Jan. 31.

A woman in reported to Sedalia Police that someone stole both license plates from her vehicle, between Jan. 17 and 30.

Several Arrests Made Over the Weekend

Sedalia Police arrested Jeffrey Jones for failure to appear, bond set at $3,500 cash/surety.

Sedalia Police arrested Timothy Branch and Jessica Bryant for driving while suspended, bond set at $533.50.

Sedalia Police arrested Chaquanta Brown for failure to appear, bond set at $150 cash.

Pettis County Deputies arrested Anthony Reed on possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license, no proof of insurance, failed to equip motor vehicle/motor drawn vehicle with two red tail lamps on proper level, no seat belt and a warrant out of the Probation and parole office.

Pettis County Deputies arrested Jose Romero for possession of marijuana and Evelia Gonzalez for driving without a valid license, no proof of insurance and failed to display lighted lamps on the motor vehicle as required.

Sedalia Police arrested Amber Wilson for driving while suspended and failure to register anually with the Department of Revenue.

Pettis County Deputies arrested Xavier Hall on a Pettis County warrant for felony tampering and stealing.

Sedalia Police arrested Diamond Jones for the purchase and possession of intoxicating liquor by a minor and resisting arrest.
