Scams and Thefts Reported In the Area

The Pettis County Sheriff's Department received a report of an IRS scam. The victim, reported to Pettis County Deputies that a subject from the IRS threatened to put her into jail if she didn't pay a certain amount. The investigation is on going, according to Pettis County Deputies.

A man in the 26000 Block of Hogan Road in Otterville, reported a theft to the Pettis County Sheriff's Office, yesterday (Sept. 10).

An employee of Woods reported to Sedalia Police that a suspect walked out of the store yesterday (Sept. 10), without paying for an item.

Sedalia Police investigated a reported case of harassment in the 1400 Block of West 5th.

A key ring with 16 keys were found in the 200 Block of West 2nd and turned into Sedalia Police for safe keeping.

Five Arrests Made

Sedalia Police arrested James Yount for failure to appear and failure to appear-misdemenaor, bond set at $88.50 and $2,500.

Sedalia Police arrested Sauel Bowden for failure to appear-misdemeanor, bond set at $1,038 cash/surety.

Sedalia Police arrested April Peterson for two charges of failure to appear-misdemenaor, bond set at $300 cash.

Pettis County Deputies arrested Jonathan Perry of Sedalia for an active warrant out of Pettis County for a probation violation.

Pettis County Deputies arrested Salley Fields of Sedalia on an active warrant out of Clinton, for a failure to appear charge.
