Around 11:25 in the morning on April 10th, Sedalia Police officers were dispatched to the emergency room at Bothwell Regional Health Center in regards to a victim who had a gun shot wound to her leg. According to a press release from the police department, the incident occurred in the 100 block of South Park Avenue. The 17-year old female victim was asleep and was awakened by the sound of the gun shot and she felt a pain in her right knee. She was driven to Bothwell by another person in in the residence. Detectives were given a search warrant for the residence to collect evidence. The vehicle was also processed. The 17-year old victim was transferred to University Hospital in Columbia for further treatment. There was no further information on the victim’s injuries at news time and no further details at this time. The case is considered on-going and KSIS will keep you updated as details emerge.

 

Around 6:30 in the evening on April 9th, officers were dispatched to Woods Supermarket, located at 701 East Broadway, in reference to a physical disturbance. A fight was broken up and one suspect was yelling obscenities and trying to incite violence from other subjects. 36-year old Terrell L. Peck was arrested for a public peace disturbance and transported to the Pettis County Jail with a bond of $283.50, cash or surety.

 

Around 7:30 in the morning on April 8th, police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of West Main Street and West Broadway Blvd. Upon contact with the driver, it was discovered that he had an active warrant from Pettis County. 27-year old Gabriel A. Cortez was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail. He was given a bond of $1,500.00, cash or surety.

 

Around 6:00 in the evening on April 8th, officers conducted a subject check in the area of South Barrett Avenue and West Broadway. The suspect handed officers a black case with methamphetamine residue in it. The suspect was also found to have a warrant out of Johnson County. 30-year old Walter Lee Ford was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, with a bond set at $250.00, cash or surety.

 

Late in the evening on April 8th, around 10:20, officers responded to the 300 block of East 7th Street in regards to a reported burglary. The victim stated someone had stolen multiple items, amounting to almost $516.00. A suspect has not been located and there were no further details listed in that police report.

 

On the afternoon of April 7th, just before 4:00, officers arrested 40-year old Angela R. Asbury, in the 600 block of North Missouri Avenue. The arrest stemmed from an incident that occurred in March. According to the police report, Asbury had taken $233.00 in cash from a register at Hardees, while she was employed there. Asbury was issued a municipal court summons on charges of stealing.

 

Around 2:30 in the afternoon on April 7th, officers arrested 34-year old Wayne T. Lion, in the 600 block of West Broadway. The arrest stemmed from an incident that occurred on March 2nd. Lion allegedly stole two flat-screen televisions from Comfort Inn on March 2nd. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold, pending the request of charges. There were no further details listed in that police report.

 

Just after 4:00 in the afternoon on April 9th, Pettis County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Kevin N. Richards, in the area of 9th Street and Highway 65, on an outstanding warrant.
