On February 13th, Pettis County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted by the Sedalia Police Department’s K-9 Unit. They arrested 24-year old Rafael Martinez Jr., of LaMonte, in the area of 50 Highway and MM Highway, in Sedalia. Deputies are requesting charges of speeding, no proof of insurance, no seat belt, possession of a controlled substance (Meth). Possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with the intent to distribute, and trafficking a controlled substance in the first degree (meth).

On February 12th, Pettis County Deputies were dispatched to Katy Motors, located at 4343 South Limit, for the theft of a vehicle. There are no suspects at this time and the investigation is ongoing….

On February 14th, around 10:23 in the morning, Sedalia Police officers were dispatched to the 900 block of South Vermont for a reported theft. The victim stated that her purse and its contents were taken from her vehicle on February 12th. She checked her bank account and discovered fraudulent transactions had been made on the account. On February 13th, around 10:00 in the morning, in the 1300 block of West 32nd Street, Sedalia Police were dispatched to check on a vehicle. The caller stated he had located a silver Ford F250 on the corner of his property. The truck was running and the driver’s door was open. No one was inside the truck. When officers arrived, they ran the VIN and the plate number through dispatch, and discovered that the truck had been stolen from an area business. The truck was turned over to the owner. There were no other details listed in the police report.

On February 13th around 11:12 in the morning, 34-year old Anthony E. McBroom was arrested for passing counterfeit bills and for identity theft.

Around 4:30 in the morning on February 13th, in the 1200 block of South Massachusetts Avenue, Sedalia Police officers took a report of a burglary. The victim stated that the suspect stole his Xbox One, along with a game, with a total value of $560.00. The suspect had not been located at newstime.

Around 8:15 in the evening on February 12th, in the 3300 block of West Broadway, officers took a report of a theft that had occurred. The victim stated someone had broken the front passenger window on her car. Several items had been taken, which totaled about $395.00. No other details were listed in the report.

Just after 8:00 in the evening on February 12th, in the 1000 block of West 3rd Street, police officers took another report of a theft. The victim stated a suspect stole his television, valued at $170.00. The suspect had not been located as of newstime.

Around 1:20 in the afternoon on February 12th, there was a theft reported at Menards, located at 4400 Wisconsin Avenue. The reporting party stated that someone had taken 7 pairs of assorted pliers from the store. The value of the pliers was placed at $224.83. There were no other details listed in the police report.
