Around 1:30 in the morning on Sunday (May 22nd), Sedalia Police officers were on patrol in the area of West 7th Street and South Moniteau Avenue, when they heard a single gunshot come from the area of West 6th and South Kentucky. Three additional were heard a short time later. Upon investigating, a vehicle was seen fleeing from the area. Officers gave chase and the suspect vehicle turned into an alley in the 700 block of South Missouri Avenue. Officers approached the vehicle, and then heard three more gunshots coming from the vehicle. Officers then pursued the vehicle through Sedalia and into the West City Limits, into the county. A male passenger jumped from the vehicle near Oak Grove Lane. He was taken into custody. The driver abandoned the vehicle a short-time later and fled on foot. A female passenger was also located near the vehicle and arrested as well. A shotgun was found inside the vehicle but the driver had fled the area.

During the pursuit, a man had entered a business near West Broadway and South Kentucky. He told an employee he had just been shot at. Another call to dispatch, around the same time, revealed a vehicle had been shot, as well, in the 600 block of West Broadway. An investigation revealed the same weapon was involved in both shooting incidents. The female and male, who were arrested earlier, are identified as 28-year old Jordan D. Rhodes and 28-year old John D. Yager. The driver, who fled, has been identified as 28-year old Timothy R. Smith. He is still at large. KSIS will bring you more on this case, as details emerge.


Friday night, around 10:15 (May 20th), law enforcement officials had a sobriety checkpoint set up in the area of Winchester Drive and West 12thStreet. One subject came through the checkpoint and investigation revealed he was in possession of an illegally concealed firearm. Arrested at the scene was 18-year old Rishaud T. Staten, for unlawful use of a weapon and habitual drug-user in possession of a firearm. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.


Around 2:30, Friday morning (May 20th), officers investigated a business alarm in the area of Broadway and Industrial Drive. Police officers located a subject in the area, who had two active probation warrants out of Pettis County. 35-year old Loyd Lee Green was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail. His bond was placed at $4,000.00 cash and $5,000.00 surety.


Last Thursday (May 19th), officers took a report at Majestic Granite, located at 808 East 3rd Street that a former employee, stole a drill and socket set, valued at $300.00. There were no further details listed in that police report.


Pettis County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Krista Savage, on warrants through Pettis County and the Board of Probation and Parole. Savage is being held at the jail, with no bond.
