On Saturday (Sept 3), Sedalia Police officers responded to the 100 block of West Main Street for a reported disturbance. A woman had been assaulted by the father of her child. The suspect was located near South Osage Avenue and West 4th Street. 33-year old Melvin Leon Ward Jr. was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, pending state charges of Third Degree Domestic Assault.

 

Just before midnight Saturday (Sept 3), officers responded to 3201 West Broadway in regards to a disturbance with a possible weapon. Witnesses stated that two subjects had been in an argument. The female subject allegedly pulled out a knife and threatened to stab the male subject. 30-year old Kirbie L. Dalton was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, pending state charges of Second Degree Domestic Assault, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Armed Criminal Action.

 

Around 4:30 Sunday afternoon (Sept 4), officers conducted a warrant check in the 1500 block of West Main Street. Police officers located 32-year old Christopher Albert Vieth and two warrants were confirmed. Vieth was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, with a bond placed at $10,000.00, cash or surety.

 

On Sunday (Sept 4), officers were dispatched to Clover Dell Park for a reported disturbance. The victim was disoriented due to injury. A witness stated the victim had been assaulted by two subjects. The suspects had left the area prior to officers arrival. The victim was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center ER for the treatment of injuries. The suspects remain unknown at this time. There were no further details listed in that report.

 

Around 4:30 Saturday afternoon (Sept 3), officers conducted a warrant check in the 1300 block of East 14th Street. A Pettis County warrant was confirmed for 23-year old Ryan M. Weisner. He was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, with a bond placed at $5,000.00, cash only.

 

Last Friday (Sept 2), officers took a report of a theft in the 2000 block of East 15th Street. A softball bag, bats, gloves, and softballs, had been stolen from a locked vehicle, while it was parked at the residence. The estimated value of the missing items was placed at $900.00. There were no further details listed in that report.

On Monday (Sept 5), Pettis County Sheriff's deputies arrested Risao Fred, in the 400 block of South Walnut, in LaMonte, on charges of domestic assault, felonious restraint, and a Saline County warrant. The investigation is still ongoing.

On Saturday (Sept 3), deputies arrested Tristan Michael Neth, in the 30600 block of Ball Road, for an outstanding Pettis County warrant.
