According to a press release from the Sedalia Police Department, the police department now has an official Facebook Page. The page will be used by the department to effectively communicate with the public. You can view job-openings, upcoming policing events and photos. Information on high-profile cases will be posted and help with assisting in identifying people engaged in criminal activity through, photos and video survaliance.

Just after 12-noon on March 3rd, in the 700 block of West 3rd Street, officers responded for a report of a deceased resident. The caller stated that he was the deceased subject's roommate. He had not not heard from his roommate for several days and became concerned. The caller went upstairs to check on him, and found him deceased. The Pettis County Coroner was contacted. No other details were listed in that police report.

Around 2:30 in the afternoon on March 3rd, officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of West Broadway for a theft report. The suspect had taken items from the shelf at the store and walked out of the business without paying for the items. 35-year old Justin A. Stone was arrested and trasnported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was book and released, pending the filing of state charges, of stealing.

Around 10:30 in the morning on March 2nd, Sedalia Police officers made contact with a suspect in the city court, for a possible warrant. Dispatch advised that the suspect had a warrant out of Pettis County. Arrested at the scene was 25-year old Quincy T. Staten, of Sedalia. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail, with a bond set at $10,000.00, cash or surety.

Just before 6:30 in the evening on March 3rd, Sedalia Police officers were dispatched to Bothwell Regional Health Center at 601 East 14th Street, for a reported sexual assault. The victim alleged that a male subject, who is known to her, sexually assaulted her, while she was sleeping. The investigation in ongoing and there were no other details listed in that report.

 

On March 3rd, Pettis County Sheriff's deputies responded to the Ridge View Estates, in reference to a death investigation. The scene was released to the Pettis County Coroner's Office. The investigation is ongoing and there were no other details listed in that report.
