Sedalia Police took a report from a local business of two people trying to pass a counterfeit bill. The suspects - described as a white woman and a black man - allegedly tried to purchase several items with a bill marked "for motion picture use only." The suspects had left by the time police arrived, but officers were able to get video of the incident from the business.


Sedalia Police arrested a local man on multiple charges of child molestation and statutory sodomy on Wednesday. Police say 32-year-old Joshua Lee Miller faces eight counts of first degree child molestation and five counts of first degree statutory sodomy. Police were called on March 8 to investigate a report of sexual assault involving three children in the 400 block of E. 13th Street. Miller was arrested April 12 and taken to the Pettis County Jail.


A La Monte man faces charges of child molestation, sodomy, statutory rape and incest after being arrested on April 11. The Pettis Co. Sheriff's Office says an investigation of allegations against 44-year-old Adan Aguilar-Cardenas led to the man's arrest. He's being held in the Pettis County Jail on a quarter million dollar cash-only bond.


Police say a 24-year-old Sedalia man was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia when his vehicle was stopped near S. Limit Avenue and W. 16th St. for disobeying a stop sign. Kevin Eugene Acord was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released.
