A case is being referred to the Juvenile Office after Sedalia Police were called on July 2 to a business in the 3200 block of W. Broadway for a theft in progress. An employee of the business said that a girl in the store was concealing items. Officers made contact with the suspect, who reportedly admitted to stealing from the store, The girl was released to her parents.


Acting on an anonymous tip, detectives with the Mid-Mo Drug Task Force, MIssouri State Highway Patrol troopers, and Pettis County deputies arrested two Cole Camp residents with outstanding warrants on July 1 in the 1500 block of S. Missouri in Sedalia. The Pettis Co. Sheriff's Office says 46-year-old Richard Troy Heston and 40-year-old Hester Elaine Williams were involed in a vehicle pursuit in Benton County on June 12. Both were arrested on outstanding warrants from Pettis And Benton counties and taken to the Pettis County Jail.


Police were dispatched around 10:15 p.m. on July 1 to the intersection of E. Broadway Blvd. and S. Porter Ave. for an attempted assault and property damage. A man told police that he had been approached by multiple male juveniles that attempted to assault his juvenile son. The suspects also reportedly damaged a bicycle. No injuries were reported.


A Concordia man suffered serious injuries and was taken by Life Flight to Centerpoint Hospital just before 10 p.m. on July 1 after Concordia Police attempted a traffic stop on a 2000 Dodge Intrepid, driven by 34-year-old Eric D. Southall. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed, ran off the road and struck a tree.


The Pettis County Sheriff's Office took a report of a stolen trailer on Friday. Deputies were dispatched to a business on Hwy. B in Sedalia and were told that a 2016 16 foot Load N Go trailer had been stolen. The sheriff's office continues to investigate the incident.


An 18-year-old Sedalia man is accused of deploying three fire extinguishers inside a local business in the 200 block of E. Main Street. Police were called to the business on June 30. The suspect, Isaiah G. Cochran, was issued a municipal court summons.


Sedalia Police are investigating a burglary in the 200 block of S. Moniteau Ave. Police were called to the residence on June 28. The owner of the home told officers that someone entered the residence while he was away and that numerous items were missing. No suspects have been identified.
