City ordinance violation results in woman's arrest on other charges

At 3:49 Sunday morning, Sedalia police conducted a subject check on two people walking in the street in the area of 7th and Washington in violation of city ordinance. A computer check of the subjects revealed one of them, identified as 30-year-old Brittani Bankovich of Sedalia, had an active probation violation warrant. A subsequent search of Bankovich revealed she was also in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. At the time of the police report, she was on 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail pending a $2000 cash only bond on the warrant and pending additional drug related charges.

Warrant check at a residence in the 1500 block of South Prospect nets 28-year-old suspect

Around 1:20 this (Monday) morning, Sedalia police conducted a warrant check in the 1500 block of South Prospect. The police report states when officers attempted to make contact with the suspect, he fled the area on foot. Following a short foot pursuit, 28-year-old Brandon McGee was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail. McGee was placed on 24-hour hold pending a Sedalia warrant, and a Benton County Warrant, plus an additional charge of resisting arrest. The police report states the Benton County warrant is a no bond warrant on a charge of 2nd degree assault with a weapon.

Thieves target an unlocked vehicle on East 10th Friday night

At 9:30 Friday night, a female victim in the 1100 block of East 10th reported her unlocked vehicle was entered, and several items were stolen. Missing items include a checkbook, an FM radio valued at around $15 and approximately $5 in change. There was no information on possible suspects in the police report.

Warsaw woman injured in a one-vehicle accident in Benton County Thursday

A 25-year-old Warsaw woman suffered serious injuries in a rollover accident on Thursday afternoon. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred on Route “BB” two tenths of a mile East of Allen Road in Benton County. The vehicle, a 2003 Windstar driven by 25-year-old Stacey Sale of Warsaw, reportedly traveled off the roadway, struck an embankment and became airborne. The vehicle then overturned after impacting the ground before coming to rest on its wheels. Sale suffered serious injuries, and was taken to University Hospital by Staff for Life for treatment.

Two Concordia people reported injured in a two-vehicle accident in Lafayette County

At 3:20 Thursday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a two-vehicle accident on Route “CC” just East of Cook's Store Road in Lafayette County. The accident happened as the 1992 Massey Ferguson Tractor driven by 77-year-old Roger Schelp of Concordia pulled into the path of the 2007 Jeep driven by 79-year-old Nadean Reith, also of Concordia. Reith and her passenger, 85-year-old Leonard Reith, received moderate injuries and were taken to Western Missouri Medical Center by EMS for treatment.
