The following Sedalia Police and Pettis County Sheriff's Reports are from the morning of Friday, July 5, 2013.

Yesterday morning (July 4), Sedalia Police and Fire Department responded to a truck that was on fire near Roto Rooter on East Broadway. The Fire Department found the vehicle was not on fire, but stuck on a retaining wall and the tires were causing smoke. Sedalia Police found the truck's ignition was tampered with allowing the vehicle to be started with a standard shift transmission without a driver. The Sedalia Fire Department watered the smoking tire down and stopped the engine.

A man in the 300 Block of West Broadway reported to Sedalia Police that someone damaged his car between 6 p.m. on July 3 and 1:45 a.m. on July 4.

A woman in the 2900 Block of West Broadway reported to Sedalia Police that someone struck her car while she was shopping at Factory Connection on July 4.

A man in the 300 Block of McAnally Court reported to Sedalia Police that someone took the plastic grips off his handlebags on his bike and they scratched and damaged the vehicle.

A man in the 1600 Block of South Harrison reported to Sedalia Police that someone stole a 2003 Dodge Caravan between 5 and 8:30 p.m.on July 3.

A woman in the 1800 Block of South Brown reported to Sedalia Police that someone broke into her car and stole a Garmin GPS and a new set of work gloves.

Payless Shoes reported to Sedalia Police that a woman concealed merchandise in her purse and left the business without paying on June 23.

Pettis County Deputies responded to the 1300 Block of East Boonville on a report of an assault that took place on July 4.

Several Arrests Made

Sedalia Police arrested Crystal Millard for failure to appear, bond set at $35,000 cash/surety.

Sedalia Police arrested Robert Weisner for a probation and parole warrant, no bond set, and driving while suspended, bond set at $533.50.

Sedalia Police arrested Derrick Schriener for failure to appear for driving while revoked, bond set at $350 cash.

Sedalia Police arrested Cory Draper for a Henry County failure to appear, bond set at $300 cash.

Sedalia Police arrested Jerid Booze for driving while suspended.
