Pettis County Deputies Respond To Structural Fire, Find a Body

Pettis County Deputies responded to a structural fire at 4191 South Kentucky that happened on the afternoon of May 7. The body of 58-year-old David Wayne Verts was found just inside the door, but there was no evidence of foul play in the investigation so far.

Several Thefts Reported In Area

A man in the 2700 Block of Wing Avenue reported to Sedalia Police that $11,021 in items have been stolen from his home sometime since September 3, 2012.

A man reported to Sedalia Police that someone stole $3000 worth of game cards from his car on May 3.

A man in the 400 Block of West 20th reported to Sedalia Police that someone fraudulently wrote $1500 worth of checks from his bank account.

A woman in the 400 Block of East 7th reported to Sedalia Police that someone stole a five-gallon gas can full of gas from her front porch on May 9.

A man in the 1200 Block of Liberty Park Boulevard reported to Sedalia Police that someone broke in yesterday (May 9) and stole $5 in cash.

Sedalia Police received a call yesterday (May 9) that someone attempted to break in to a home in the 1800 Block of South Montgomery. Sedalia Police found a door was damaged.

Pettis County Deputies responded to the 32000 Block of May Road for a burglary report for tampering with a motor vehicle.

Sedalia Police Make Three Arrests

Sedalia Police arrested Amber Wilson for failure to appear for passing bad checks, bond set at $2,500.

Sedalia Police arrested Helen Brockman for trespassing at several businesses and harassing customers.

Sedalia Police arrested Xavier Zuniga for driving while revoked.
