The following Sedalia Police and Pettis County Sheriff's Reports are from the morning of Jan. 14, 2013.

Several Reports of Theft Reported in Area

A woman reported to Sedalia Police that sometime between 10:15 a.m. on Jan. 10 and 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 11 that someone got into her vehicle and stole several items while it was parked in the driveway in the 1800 Block of South Lamine.

Sedalia Police went to the 500 Block of North Osage in regard to a theft on Jan. 11. A complainant stated that he discovered someone had an illegal hookup to cable television. Charter Communications confirmed the illegal hookup and a technician disconnected the line.

Pettis County Deputies responded to the 29000 Block of Lake Shore Drive in rural Pettis County on the morning of Jan. 11 for a residential alarm. Upon arrival, Pettis County Deputies found a door open. No suspects were located and nothing was taken from the home.

Casey's at 1909 West Main reported to Sedalia Police there was a $76.76 gas drive off on Jan. 13.

Sedalia Police went to the 1800 Block of South Washington to investigate an assault report, but no criminal charges are pending.

Pettis County Deputies Investigate an Accident

Saturday afternoon (Jan. 12) at 5:45 p.m., Pettis County Deputies investigated a one-vehicle motor vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 65, near KA Line Road. 23-year-old Sarah Smith of Blue Springs and her passengers, 19-year-old Jacob Smith of Buckner and a child were uninjured when their vehicle lost control and came into contact with a guard rail. All occupants were restrained during the time of the accident.

Sedalia Police Make Several Arrests

Sedalia Police arrested Dominic Knop for a Benton County failure to appear warrant and a violation of court order, bond set at $1,000 cash/surety.

Sedalia Police arrested Marc Brewington for an assault.  Bond was set at $533.50 and Brewington was also placed on a 12-hour Protective Custody Hold.

Sedalia Police arrested Cynthia Brown for a failure to appear charge, bond set at $250 cash only.

Sedalia Police arrested Demario Claxton for having a municipal warrant for failing to pay back fines, bond set at $86.50 cash only.

Sedalia Police arrested Nicole Vanhook for having a municipal warrant for failing to pay back fines, bond set at $62.40 cash only.

Sedalia Police arrested Shirley Hampshire for a warrant for a no seat-belt violation, bond set at $10.

Sedalia Police arrested Warren Downs and James Maberry for stealing from Walmart.
