Sedalia STING Unit Serves a Search Warrant and Finds Drugs

Yesterday (Nov.15) the Sedalia Strike Team Investigations of Narcotics and Gangs (STING Unit) served a search warrant at 623 East 16th. Two subjects were in the home at the time of the warrant service, but only one suspect was arrested and placed on 24-hour hold. Detectives found marijuana, paraphernalia and meth paraphernalia. 21-year old Dakota Pottorff was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance, possession of controlled substance with the intent to distribute, manufacturing a controlled substance within 2,000 feet of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia. More charges could be forthcoming.

Sedalia Police Department and Fire Department Respond to a Fire

Last night (Nov. 15), Sedalia Police went to 818 East 9th for a report of a residential fire. The Sedalia Fire Department Deputy Chief Greg Harrell advised Sedalia Police that the fire appeared to be started by the resident improperly putting out a cigarette. The home was partially destroyed by the fire.

Sedalia Police and Pettis County Sheriff's Office Respond to Disturbances

Yesterday (Nov. 15), Sedalia Police went to the 700 Block of West 4th for a reported subject with a weapon. Sedalia Police made contact with the victim, who said the suspect was holding a gun in a non-threatening manner. The Sedalia Police Department found the gun was a BB gun and no charges are being sought at this time.

Yesterday (Nov. 15), Pettis County Deputies went to the 28000 Block of Carpenter Road for an assault that occurred at the Greenbrier Crossing low water bridge in Smithton. The investigation continues.

A man in the 300 Block of North Summit reported to Sedalia Police that his 1998 Saturn, valued at $700, was stolen from the rear drive of his home between 8 a.m. Nov. 14 and 8 a.m. Nov. 15.

Sedalia Police Make Two Arrests

Sedalia Police arrested Floyd Snow for having an open container and resisting arrest, total bond set at $663.50 cash/surety.

Sedalia Police arrested Ashley Paris for having a warrant, bond set at $500 cash.
