The following Sedalia Police and Pettis County Sheriff's Reports are from the morning of Monday, November 19, 2012.

Sedalia Police and Missouri State Highway Patrol Involved in Vehicle Pursuit

Friday night (Nov. 16), Sedalia Police saw a vehicle with no front plate headed north on Ohio Street. Sedalia Police attempted to stop the vehicle in the 100 Block of East Cooper. The car failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. After Sedalia Police lost sight of the vehicle, a Missouri State Highway Patrol unit located the car and it fled again. Stop sticks were deployed and the car continued on its rims. The car eventually came to a stop at Broadway and Massachusetts after it collided with a Sedalia Police Unit and then struck a chain-linked fence. Timothy Smith of Tipton was arrested for driving while revoked, resisting arrest and possession of marijuana.

Several Thefts Reported In the Area

The Sacred Heart Church reported to Sedalia Police that someone removed several pieces of copper downspouts from the west and south sides of the church between 11:15 a.m. Nov. 17 and 8 a.m. Nov 18. The five pieces of downspouts ranged from 8 feet in length to four feet in length. The estimated dimensions are eight by two and are valued at $150.

Pettis County Deputies received a report on Saturday (Nov. 17) that there was a burglary in the 29000 Block of Highway 50. Several DVDs were stolen.

A woman in the 29000 Block of Highway AA reported to Pettis County Deputies that someone had entered into a structure and stole numerous tools between Nov. 10 and 18.

Murphy USA reported to Sedalia Police that there was a $5.01 gas drive off on Nov. 16.

A woman in the 1900 Block of East Boonville reported to the Pettis County Sheriff's Office that her yard, mailbox and post had been damaged on Nov. 17

Sedalia Police Investigate A Dog Bite

Sedalia Police went to the 400 Block of East 13th in regard to a dog bite. An 11-year-old boy was walking in the street and a loose dog came and attacked and scratched him. The Sedalia Police made contact with the owner and the dog was up to date on his rabies vaccinations.

Several Arrested Over the Weekend

Sedalia Police arrested Amy Johnson for failure to appear, bond set at $88.50 cash.

Sedalia Police arrested Alicia Sims for first degree property damage.

Pettis County Deputies arrested Nichole Lipe of Sedalia after she drove to the Pettis County Jail with a revoked license.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Ferris Shorts of Houstonia in Saline County on Pettis County warrants. Shorts was then transported to the Pettis County Jail.
