Missouri State Highway Patrol and Pettis County Deputies Seize Drugs

According to the Pettis County Sheriff, Kevin Bond, investigators with the Missouri State Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC) and deputies from the Pettis County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant early Saturday morning, Dec. 15, in the 27000 Block of Highway BB in northeastern Pettis County near Longwood. During the search, illegal drugs and monies were seized, and two subjects found at the residence were taken into custody. Saturday evening, the Pettis County Prosecutor, filed charges against the resident of the home. 49-year-old James J. Elsea was charged with a Class B felony of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute. Elsea's is currently being held in the Pettis County Jail on $50,000 bond.

Pettis County Deputies Investigate a Theft

A man in the 200 Block of Mockbee Street in Hughesville reported to Pettis County Deputies that someone stole property from his vehicle during the overnight of Dec. 11.

Two Accidents Investigated in Sedalia

Sedalia Police responded to an accident on Saturday, Dec. 15, as a woman said she was traveling westbound on Highway 50 near Thompson Boulevard in the left lane when traffic slowed in front of her. An old or model bluish gray Dodge Caravan approaching behind her and unable to stop. The victim said she made contact with the driver and said that she was going to call police. The other driver drove off through Payless Shoes parking lot with reported front end damage.

Friday evening (Dec. 14), Sedalia Police went to East Broadway and South Marshall for a report of a light pole down in a westbound lane. The pole appeared to be struck by a vehicle.

A woman from Green Ridge reported to Pettis County Deputies that she was assaulted on the afternoon of Dec. 14.

Several Arrests Made in Pettis County

Sedalia Police arrested David Boggs for a failure to appear warrant, bond set at $200 cash.

Sedalia Police arrested David Hill for a parole warrant and resisting arrest.

Pettis County Deputies arrested Jennifer Garrigus on Friday, Dec. 14, for having a warrant and driving while suspended charge.

Sedalia Police arrested Davy Rusa for having a warrant out of Morgan County.
