Sedalia Police Receive Reports About Thefts from Vehicles

A man in the 3100 Block of Brianna Boulevard reported to Sedalia Police that his 1998 Red Honda Civic was stolen between 1:30 and 9:20 a.m. Dec. 29.

A man from Warsaw reported to Sedalia Police that sometime between Dec. 26 and Dec. 29 that someone stole a battery booster box, two leaf blowers, one gas Husky, knife, checkbook and checks from his car, while it was parked in the 700 Block of East 11th

Yesterday (Dec. 29), a woman reported to Sedalia Police that one of her vehicles had been broken into and the other car was damaged when the suspect attempted to make entry.

A woman in the 500 Block of West 15th reported to Sedalia Police that someone got in her car and stole a winter coat, $20 bill and emptied the vehicle's glove compartment between 2 p.m. Dec. 28 and 6:45 a.m. Dec. 29.

A woman in the 1500 Block of South Osage reported to Sedalia Police that someone stole her wallet from the inside of her unlocked car between 2 and 3 a.m. Dec. 29.

A woman in the 1400 Block of South Vermont reported to Sedalia Police that someone entered her vehicle and stole unnamed property between 5 p.m. Dec. 28 and 11:20 a.m. Dec. 29.

Yesterday (Dec. 29), Sedalia Police went to the 1400 Block of South Kentucky as someone broke into a car, but there were no reports of anything stolen.

A man reported to Sedalia Police that two suspects entered his garage at 2:15 p.m. Dec. 28, stole an HP printer and then left in a red Dodge Ram 1500 with loud exhaust.

Pettis County Deputies received a report of a burglary from the 29000 Block of Hopewell Road on Dec. 29.

 

Sedalia Police Investigate Several Scams

A woman from Lincoln, Nebraska reported to Sedalia Police that there seemed to be a Craigslist scam that came from Sedalia. The victim is out a $200 deposit for a pure bred puppy.

A man in the 300 Block of East 2nd reported to Sedalia Police that someone had used his identity to open an account with an electric company between Dec. of 2005 and Oct. 24, 2007. The suspect did not make payments on the account.

Murphy USA reported to Sedalia Police that there was a $24.54 gas drive off on Dec. 29 at 9:30 a.m.

Several Arrests Made

Sedalia Police arrested Lauren Cowen for a Pettis County warrant, bond set at $25,000 cash/surety.

Sedalia Police arrested Brandon Carlock for third degree assault and being in possession of meth.

Sedalia Police arrested Lachrista Thomas for identity theft and a failure to appear for stealing, bond set at $88.50.

Sedalia Police arrested Joshua Groves for forgery, three Pettis County warrants and driving while revoked.

Sedalia Police arrested Billy Crawford Jr. for forgery and a Johnson County warrant.
