The following Sedalia Police and Pettis County Sheriff's reports are from the morning of Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012

Several Thefts Reported In Area

A man in the 800 Block of East 15th reported to Sedalia Police that he was moving from a home on East 14th.  He placed several items in his pickup and someone stole $2,200 in items between 7 p.m. on Dec. 4 and 11:45 a.m. on Dec. 5.  Items stolen included a floor jack, valued at $200; various hand tools, valued at $400; Weber Charcoal BBQ grill, valued at $100; side post battery, valued at $100; two chain fall roller dollies; metal framing for a 24-foot round pool, valued at $1,100; Sears Chainsaw with 16-inch bar, valued at $230; and a propane bottle, valued at $10.

A woman reported to Sedalia Police that someone took a check, valued at $325 out of an envelope in a mailbox between 8 a.m. on Dec. 4 and 3 p.m. on Dec. 5.

A woman reported to Sedalia Police that a purse was stolen from a parking lot in Walmart on Dec. 5.

An employee of Green Ridge Salvage reported to Pettis County Deputies that several items had been stolen from the business in the 15000 Block of Dove Road sometime overnight on Dec. 4.

Yesterday (Dec. 5), Pettis County Deputies received a report of property damage to a vehicle while parked in the 33000 Block of Route U. There were also a few items stolen from the vehicle. There were no leads or suspects at the time.

Several Arrests Made

Yesterday (Dec. 5), Pettis County Deputies responded to a burglary and theft report at the Tyson waste facility located on Menefee Road, where items had been stolen from an outbuilding. Wayne Lion and Kathleen Kraft were arrested a short time later and placed on 24-hour hold pending the filing of formal charges by the prosecutor's office.

Sedalia Police arrested Wendy Smith for a parole violation.  No bond was set, and a Pettis County warrant for larceny, bond set at $3,500.

Sedalia Police arrested Jeremy Schmadeke for a failure to appear warrant, bond set at $500 bond cash.

Sedalia Police arrested Derrick Kestner for a failure to appear charge for trespassing, bond set at $86.50.
