Sedalia Police arrested a Smithton Man for careless and imprudent driving early Saturday morning.

According to a report, officers were dispatched to the west city limits at 1:01 a.m. April 14 on a call of someone driving erratically headed into Sedalia.

The driver was later located and stopped at Main and Industrial at 1:19 a.m.

The report stated that the suspect, 45-year-old Douglas Lee Johnson of Smithton, was taken into custody and charged with Careless and Imprudent Driving, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Meth and Possession of Xanax. Johnson was also wanted on a Pettis County felony warrant worth $75,000. He also reportedly gave the officer a fake ID. Johnson was also charged with Identity Theft.

He was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold, pending the formal filing of charges.
