The following Sedalia Police crime reports and Missouri State Highway Patrol accident reports are from the afternoon of Oct. 23, 2013.

Sedalia man faces fugitive from justice charge

At 2:45 Tuesday afternoon, a Sedalia Police Detective went to the Pettis County Jail to meet with a suspect with possible active warrants. Upon arrival, the detective met with the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Jared Monsees of Sedalia. The police report states a probation violation warrant was confirmed on Monsees out of Wyandot County, Kan. A fugitive from justice charge is also pending against him according to the report.

Sedalia man arrested Tuesday afternoon for assaulting two victims

Just after 4:00 Tuesday afternoon, Sedalia police were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of North Grand on a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers made contact with two victims who told the officers that 22-year-old Christopher Trobaugh of the residence had assaulted them. Both victims suffered minor injuries according to the police report, but refused medical treatment. Trobaugh was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a bond of $533.50.

Suspended driver arrested this morning

Around 6:45 this morning, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at 3rd and State Fair Blvd. for failure to stop at a stop sign. A check through dispatch revealed the driver, 21-year-old Steadman Moore of Sedalia, was a suspended driver. He was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail where he was booked and released with a court date.

Victim reports he knows who stole his wallet on Tuesday

At 6:00 Tuesday evening, Sedalia police responded to a theft complaint in the 200 block of West 24th.  Upon arrival, the victim told officers a person known to him stole his wallet out of his vehicle a short time earlier that evening. The wallet reportedly contained $300 and the victim’s driver’s license. The victim gave police suspect information and the suspect is being sought at news time.

Theft of a bicycle reported Tuesday afternoon on East 15th

On Tuesday afternoon, Sedalia police took a theft complaint from a victim in the 1200 block of East 15th. According to the victim, someone stole a bicycle valued at $200 from his unlocked shed.

Casey’s at 3050 South Limit reported a $10 gas drive off around 5:00 Tuesday evening. There are no suspects at news time.

New York man injured in a one-vehicle accident in Saline County

At 5:43 Tuesday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway patrol reported a one-vehicle accident on a US 65 Ramp to Eastbound I-70 in Saline County. The crash reportedly occurred as the driver of a 2010 International driven by 39-year-old Giles Jaite of Earlville, New York, lost control of his vehicle, causing it to overturn and travel off the roadway. Jaite suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital by Saline County Ambulance for treatment.
