Walking man is arrested on a Henry County Warrant

Just after 7:00 Thursday night, Sedalia police stopped a man at 6th and Marvin who was walking in the street in violation of city ordinance. A check through dispatch revealed the suspect, 36-year-old Richard Riley Jr. of Sedalia had an active warrant out of Henry County. Riley was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail pending a $500 cash bond on the warrant.

Pettis County accident injures a Hughesville woman this morning

Around 8:00 this morning, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one-vehicle injury accident on Route “H” just before Muddy Creek Road in Pettis County. The accident occurred as the driver of a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, 47-year-old Sherria McDonald of Hughesville, lost control of her vehicle on the icy roadway and traveled off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, then returned to the roadway and overturned. McDonald was wearing her seat belt and received minor injuries in the crash. She was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Pettis County Ambulance for treatment.
