The following Sedalia Police crime reports and Missouri State Highway Patrol accident reports are from the afternoon of Feb. 7, 2013.

Early morning traffic stop results in Sedalia man’s arrest on numerous warrants

At 2:22 this (Thursday) morning, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at 9th and Thompson Ave. for traffic violations. The police report states that upon contact with the occupants of the vehicle, one of them gave officers false identification. A check through dispatch on the suspect, identified as 30-year-old Kevin Richards of Sedalia, revealed he had nine failure to appear warrants. At the time of the police reports Richards was in the Pettis County jail pending a total of $17,250 for charges of non-support, identity theft and numerous traffic related violations.

Burglary complaint filed by a Sedalia man Monday afternoon

Around 4:00 Monday afternoon, Sedalia police responded to a theft complaint that reportedly occurred over the weekend in the area of 3rd and Center. According to the complainant, someone stole five metal industrial cabinets and a metal spool from his building. Value of the stolen items was placed at $520. There were no suspects.

License plate stolen from a vehicle while woman watches a basketball game

At 6:30 Tuesday evening, a female victim reported the rear license plate was stolen from her vehicle while she watched a basketball game at State Fair Community College. The number on the Missouri license plate is #WH5B1X, and it expires in 2014. There were no suspects at news time.

One-vehicle accident results in injures to two Warsaw residents Saturday afternoon

The Missouri State Highway patrol reported a one-vehicle accident at 12:30 Saturday afternoon. The accident occurred on US Highway 65 South of Smasal Road in Pettis County, when a deer struck the 2007 Ford driven by Michael Detel of Warsaw on the passenger’s side, causing extensive damage to the vehicle. The accident report states that 30-year-old Tamara Detel and 3-year-old Kylie Detel both of Warsaw suffered minor injuries and were taken to Bothwell Hospital by private vehicle for treatment.

46-year-old Barnett woman injured in a Pettis County accident Sunday morning

At 7:30 Sunday morning, the Missouri State Highway patrol reported a one-vehicle injury accident on Route “M” at Echo Road in Pettis County. The accident reportedly happened as the driver of a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria lost control on an icy bridge, skidded off the roadway and struck a ditch before returning to the roadway and coming to rest. The driver, 46-year-old Tracy Weicken of Barnett received minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.

Marshall Woman injured in a Saline County accident this (Thursday) morning

Just after 3:00 this (Thursday) morning, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported an accident that occurred on County Road 240 in Saline County. The accident report states the accident occurred as the driver of a 2001 Mazda, 22-year-old Tamika Chess of Marshall, failed to negotiate a curve, slid off the roadway and overturned. Chess received minor injuries and was taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital by EMS for treatment.
