Police seek suspects for arson and property damage

At 2:43 Tuesday morning, Sedalia Police and fire responded to Katy Trails subdivision on reports of fires that were set in the roadway of the 2800 block of Station Ave. Upon arrival, officers found two piles of trash burning in the road. The police report also states several residences had property damage in the area. At the time of the police report, the police were looking for suspects on charges of arson, and property damage.

 

Local Restaurant burglarized overnight Monday

Monday morning, Sedalia Police investigated a burglary complaint at the El Tapitio at 1705 West Broadway. According to the owner of the restaurant someone broke a glass out of the front door to gain access to the business sometime overnight. The thieves stole a metal box containing $2300 from the office. Nothing else was bothered according to the report.

 

Sedalia man shoots himself in the hand Tuesday night

At 7 o’clock Tuesday night, Sedalia Police responded to the Bothwell Hospital on the report of a gunshot victim. Upon arrival the victim told officers he had discharged a firearm in his home, as he tried to determine if the gun was cleared, and shot himself in the hand. There was no other information in the police report.

 

21-year-old Sedalia man arrested for driving while suspended, and a city warrant

Around 2:40 Tuesday morning Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle with a driver known to be suspended. Upon contact with the occupants of the vehicle, a suspect reportedly gave the officer the wrong name, which turned out to have a warrant attached to it, resulting in his arrest. The police report states the suspect identified himself on the way to jail as 21-year-old Jeremy Beaman. Beaman had a city warrant with a bond of $164.10, and was placed on 24-hour hold pending charges of identity theft.

 

Sedalia man is in jail on charges of property damage for spinning his tires

Just after noon on Tuesday 43-year-old William Kabler of Sedalia was arrested for property damage. The police report states Kabler was spinning his tires, and leaving black marks on the parking lot at Eastside Bings. At the time of the police report Kabler was in the Pettis County Jail pending a $531.50 bond.

 

Construction company reports vandalism, and the theft of gas from company vehicles

At 6:22 Tuesday morning Sedalia police investigated a report of gasoline theft and property damage at a local construction company. According to a complainant at Arnwine Construction Company at 200 South Marvin  thieves siphoned gas from multiple vehicle’s gas tanks sometime overnight. The thieves also cut the gas lines of some vehicles. There were no suspects at news time, but an investigation is underway.

 

A deaf woman files complaint against another deaf person for harassment on a video phone

A Sedalia police report states they are investigating a case of harassment involving two people who are deaf. According to the report, the complainant has asked her deaf relative not to call her on her video phone, because she calls her names and berates her. The report says the police had not contacted the caller at the time of the report.
