The following Sedalia Police crime reports are from the afternoon of April 25, 2014.

Sedalia teen in jail traffic charges and a warrant

At 11:16 Thursday night, Sedalia Police were dispatched to the area of 19th and Montgomery on a reported careless driver. Upon arrival, the victim told officers a vehicle swerved in what appeared to be an attempt to strike their vehicle. The suspect, identified as 17-year-old Taylor Dean Coslet of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending charges of driving while suspended, careless and imprudent driving and a failure to appear warrant. Bond was set at $622.

Intoxicated female arrested early this morning on West Cooper

Around 1:23 this morning, Sedalia Police were dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of West Cooper on the report of a woman yelling for help. Upon arrival, officers found a reportedly extremely intoxicated female who could not stand without help. Officers took 36-year-old Jaime Shannon Winfrey of Sedalia into protective custody and transported her to Bothwell Regional Health Center for evaluation. Winfrey was then taken to the Pettis County Jail pending sobriety.

Traffic stop results in arrest for a 22-year-old Sedalia man

Just after 9 a.m. Thursday morning, Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle at Broadway and Emmett for improper registration.  A subsequent check on the driver, 22-year-old William Franken of Sedalia, revealed that he was suspended. Franken was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released with a court date.

Bicycle thief left a replacement for the bike they stole

At 4:47 Thursday morning, a victim in the 700 block of East 9th Street reported that her son’s bicycle was stolen and another bike was left in its place. The theft took place sometime overnight according to the police report.

Woman in the 2300 block of East 28th Street reports the theft of medication

Around 8:15 this morning, a female victim reported the theft of four bottles of prescription medication from her home in the 2300 block of East 28th. An investigation is ongoing by the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office.
