The following Sedalia Police crime reports are from the afternoon of Wednesday, April 9, 2014.

K9 sniffs out drugs and paraphernalia in a South Washington residence

At 5:46 Sunday evening, Sedalia Police were dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of South Washington. Upon arrival, the complainant told the officers that the subject she leased the residence to left a syringe on the back steps. The police report states the suspect was contacted and gave consent for a search of the residence. The report also states a K9 alerted on the residence, and drugs and drug paraphernalia were located in the residence. The suspect, identified as 43-year-old Sheila Humphrey of the residence, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail pending formal charges.

$300 worth of tools stolen from a vehicle on West 10th Street

At 6 a.m. this morning, a victim in the 200 block of West 10th Street reported that $300 worth of tools were stolen from his vehicle. There were no suspects at news time.

Car stereo reported stolen from a vehicle on Dennis Road

On Tuesday, a victim in the 2300 block of Dennis Road reported the car stereo was stolen from his vehicle between 5 p.m. Monday evening and 4 a.m. Tuesday morning. Value of the stereo was placed at $300 by the victim. There was no information on a suspect at news time.

Thief forges two checks stolen from a vehicle in March

On Tuesday, a victim in the 100 block of Dundee came to the police station to report the theft of checks from his vehicle. Theft of the checks took place around March 7 according to the victim, but he was unaware of the theft until a $68.39 check and a $75 check was written at a local convenience store. There were no suspects at news time.

Two hit-and-run accidents reported Tuesday

Sedalia Police investigated a hit-and-run accident in the 100 block of East 3rd Street early Tuesday morning. According to the victi,m the rear quarter panel of his vehicle was damaged while he was parked in the parking lot at 118 East 3rd. There were no suspects at news time.

A hit-and-run accident was reported in the 500 block of West 7th Street at 4:15 Tuesday afternoon. The victim reported that his vehicle that was parked in front of his home was hit by a vehicle, and the driver did not stop to report the accident. There were no suspects at the time of the police report.
