The following Sedalia Police crime reports are from the afternoon of Aug. 19, 2013.

Lost Child call ends with woman’s arrest on possession warrant

Around 6:00 Sunday evening, Sedalia police responded to the 400 block of Albright Court on a reported lost child. The police report states they were able to locate the child’s caretaker. The police report also states that during an investigation, officers made contact with a suspect with a Pettis County warrant for felony possession. Arrested at the scene was 30-year-old Natacia Poindexter of Sedalia. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $5000 bond on the warrant.

Warrant check on Wilkerson Avenue Saturday nets a suspect for warrants and possession

At 9:14 Saturday night, Sedalia police conducted a warrant check at an apartment in the 600 block of Wilkerson Avenue. Upon contact with the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Alla Mishchuck of the residence, she was found to have three active warrants. The police report also states that during the investigation, Mishchuck attempted to hide marijuana and paraphernalia in the presence of officers. At the time of the police report, she was on 24-hour hold in the Pettis County Jail pending bonds on the warrants and new formal charges.

Disturbance call ends with an arrest early Saturday morning

Just after 1:30 Saturday morning, Sedalia police responded to a disturbance call at a residence in the 700 block of East 9th. Upon arrival, officers located a suspect with a drug related Pettis County Warrant. Arrested at the scene was 41-year-old Shannon Marie Jones of the residence. She was taken to the Pettis County jail pending a $5000 bond on the warrant.

Traffic stop Sunday night nets a Sweet Springs man with warrants

Just before 8:00 Sunday night, Sedalia police officers observed a vehicle fail to signal a turn and attempted to stop him in the area of 18th and Grand. The police report states the driver accelerated in an attempt to escape, then stopped and fled on foot. Following a short foot pursuit, officers captured the suspect, 38-year-old Gary Barnett of Sweet Springs. At the time of the police report, Barnett was on 24-hour hold pending $2000 bond on a Johnson County warrant and a Knob Noster warrant. He also faces new charges of driving while suspended and resisting arrest.

Hughesville man booked and released on traffic related charges this (Monday) morning

At 9:50 this Monday morning, Sedalia police observed a vehicle fail to signal for a turn at North Emmett and East Jackson. During a traffic stop, 59-year-old Gary Clark of Hughesville was found to be a revoked driver. Clark was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released pending further actions.

Thieves target a storage shed on West 5th Friday evening

Around 5:40 Friday evening a victim in the 1500 block of West 5th reported a burglary to the Sedalia Police Department. According to the victim, thieves broke into his storage building and took approximately $2180 worth of hand tools and power tools. There were no suspects at news time.

Denny's Restaurant at 2401 West Broadway reported that a man had eaten a meal valued at $9.72 Saturday morning, then left without paying. Members of the staff recognized the suspect and officers are looking for him.

Sedalia police were called to a residence in the 1200 block of East 4th to remove two marijuana plants from the yard of a vacant house. The police report states the plants were uprooted and destroyed.
