The following Sedalia Police crime reports are from the afternoon of Aug. 30, 2013.

33-year-old Sedalia woman arrested for domestic assault

At 1:12 this morning, Sedalia police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1100 block of East 5th. Upon arrival, a male victim told officers that 33-year-old Dawn Showman of Sedalia had punched him, causing his nose to bleed and breaking his glasses. Showman was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where she was placed on 24-hour hold pending formal charges.

Homeless man arrested for order of protection violation

Around 1:20 this morning, Sedalia police were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of South Moniteau on a report of violation of a full order of protection. Upon arrival, officers arrested Mark Head and transported him to the Pettis County Jail on 24-hour hold pending further action.

Traffic stop results in arrest for homeless man

During a traffic stop on Broadway and Ingram at 11:45 Thursday night, Sedalia police arrested 25-year-old Derek Van Hook on charges of driving while suspended. At the time of the police report, Van Hook was in the Pettis County jail pending a $150 cash only bond.

Sedalia man arrested for driving while suspended

Just before 7:00 on Thursday night, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at 15th and Marvin with a driver known to be suspended. Brad Morgan, 35, of Sedalia was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail where he was booked and released with a court date.

Disabled woman’s identity is stolen by someone in Arizona

On Thursday, the Sedalia police took an identity theft complaint from a female victim in Sedalia. According to the woman, someone in Arizona is using her social security number and other information to gain employment. The woman states she is disabled and has never been to Arizona. There are no suspects.

Thieves target a Smithton man’s vehicles for parts to sell as scrap

The Pettis County Sheriff’s Office took a theft complaint from a rural Smithton man Wednesday. According to the victim, someone stole parts from vehicles parked on his property that he believes they sold for scrap metal. The cost of replacement of the parts was $800 according to the victim. There was no suspect information in the Sheriff’s report.

Casey’s at 3050 South Limit reported a $7 gas drive off  Thursday night. There were no suspects at news time.
